Name: Tarima
Variety: Mourvedre (14.5% Alcohol)
Region: Alicante
Country: Spain
Year: 2012
My Review: This looks like a very thick wine that sticks to the inside of the glass more than most. It has very slow legs and is a deep purple color. It smells strongly of blackberry and cherry with a small amount of rubber. It is a thick, dry wine that is very smooth. It tastes exactly how it smells with a very slight aftertaste of honey on toast. It clings to the inside of my mouth as the legs would suggest.
Winery Review: The image of the passion flower was chosen for Tarima because the blossom never ceases to amaze and entice people around the world. The vivid colors and complex structure draws you into for a closer look; just as the color and aromas of this wine attract your attention. Made from Monastrell grapes grown on gnarled vines in the rugged, arid climate of Alicante, Tarima blossoms in your glass with notes of licorice, chocolates, and a hint of dark violets.
I did not drink this with food
I would drink this again
