Name: Lorca
Variety: Mourvedre (13.5% Alcohol)
Region: Bullas
Country: Spain
Year: 2009
My Review: This appears to be a medium bodied wine with moderate legs and a deep crimson color. This wine smells strongly of blueberry and a secondary smell of toast. It actually smells like a blueberry pie. This is a medium-dry wine that goes down very smoothly. It tastes exactly as it smells, with medium tannins. This is a very smooth wine.
Winery Review: Produced entirely from Monastrell grapes that have been grown in our Estate Vineyards. Our vineyards are approximately 40 years old and are located in a valley that is surrounded by several mountain ranges, creating a unique microclimate. Lorca has a purple color with lush, spicy, black cherry aromas. The concentrated flavors of dark, ripe fruit have enough grip and acidity to carry through the long smooth finish.
I did not drink this with food
I would definitely drink this again
