Rue de Perle Bordeaux

Monday, March 17, 2014

Name: Rue de Perle

Variety: Bordeaux (13% Alcohol)
Region: Bordeaux
Country: France
Year: 2010
Price: $11

My Review: This wine appears to be deep scarlet and is medium to thick bodied with moderate legs.  This wine has aromas of cherry and blueberry with a hint of wood.  This wine tastes exactly how it smells, but there is also a slight rubber and metallic taste.  It has a very sticky texture and is also very smooth.  Compared to the only other Bordeaux I have had, this one is not nearly as dry.

Winery Review: From humble beginnings on Rue de Perle, our wines embrace a long-standing commitment to unrivaled quality, and reach beyond ordinary for an uncompromising approach to the French joie de vivre.  The Bordeaux region, bordered by the Garonne and Dordogne rivers, has well drained soils low in nutrients, ideal for creating sophisticated blends.  This Bordeaux blend is full-bodied with aromas of bright red berry fruits, black cherry, and warm spice.  Flavors of very ripe raspberry and boysenberry pate de fruit are elevated by subtle hints of pepper.

I did not drink this with food
I would probably drink this again
