Rodolfo Tannat

Monday, March 3, 2014

Name: Rodolfo

Variety: Tannat (13.5% Alcohol)
Region: Mendoza
Country: Argentina
Year: 2012
Price: $9

My Review:  This wine is a very dark, thick looking wine. It is almost black, but is really dark purple. It has slow legs as well. It smells very fruity, with aromas of strawberry, cherry, raspberry, and a slight hint of pear. Because of the slight pear aroma, this thick, red wine actually somewhat resembles a white wine more than most red wines on the nose. This is a very sweet, smooth wine. It tastes exactly as it smells, except I do not taste the pear, but I do taste a little blueberry.

Winery Review: The 200-year-old Vina Cornejo Costas, with its state of the art facilities, is one of the oldest wineries in Argentina. Big and bold, showcasing rich red berries and black currant, with chocolate notes and soft tannins. Enjoy Tannat tonight!

I did not drink this with food
I would definitely drink this again
