Mouton Cadet Rogue

Tuesday, February 18, 2014

Name: Mouton Cadet Rogue

Variety: Bordeaux (13.5% Alcohol)
Region: Bordeaux
Country: france
Year: 2011
Price: $10

My Review:  This wine appears very thick, with a plum color. It smells strongly of chocolate covered strawberries and cherries. This is an extremely dry wine with lots of tannins. The tannins in this wine mask much of the flavor that I could smell, but one new flavor I can taste is a hint of maple syrup. For how dry of a wine it is, it has a very smooth finish.

Winery Review: Created in 1920 by my father, the legendary Baron Phillippe, winegrower and poet, Mouton Cadet Rogue combines winemaking tradition with the values of authenticity and exacting standards that have always been the pride of our family. It unites several fine Bordeaux appellations, planted with classic grape varieties: Merlot 65%, Cabernet Sauvignon 20%, and Cabernet Franc 15%. Through its balance, roundness, and aging capacity, the fruits of generous Nature and the work of human hands, Mouton Cadet Rogue expresses all the richness and diversity of one of the world's foremost winegrowing areas

I did not drink this with food
I would probably drink this again
