Casas del Bosque Sauvignon Blanc

Tuesday, April 8, 2014

Name: Casas Del Bosque

Variety: Sauvignon Blanc (13.5% Alcohol)
Region: Casablanca
Country: Chile
Year: 2013
Price: $11

My Review: This wine is very clear, light gold color.  It also has hints of green.  This wine smells a lot like grapefruit with a hint of grass, pear, and green apple.  This is a very dry, bitter, acidic wine that tastes as it smells also with hints of dark green, raw vegetables like raw asparagus or spinach leaves with no dressing. It also has a prickling sensation when I drink it.

Winery Review: The Casas del Bosque sauvignon displays energetic, precise lemon and pear qualities, with floral, herbal and mineral accents adding complexity; year in and year out, this wine punches far above its price point. It possesses the depth and power to work with richer foods, but also the finesse and energy to be enjoyable on its own, or alongside simply prepared salads or seafood, even sushi.

I did not drink this with food
I would drink this again (8/10)
