Name: Chateau de Segries Cotes du Rhone
Variety: 50% Grenache, 30% Syrah, 10% Cinsault,10% Carignan (14% Alcohol)
Region: Rhone Valley
Country: France
Year: 2012
My Review: This is a dark red wine that is nearly black that has a hint of plum coloring around the edges. It smells of blackberry, blueberry, and strawberry. It also smells a little of molasses and a hint of vinegar. This is a fairly dry wine with moderate tannins. There is also a slight burn on the finish.
Winery Review: A fantastic, fruit forward Côtes du Rhône, the 2011 Château de Ségriès, a blend of 50% Grenache, 30% Syrah, 10% Cinsault, and 10% Carignan, is loaded with sweet Grenache aromas and flavors of raspberry, garrigue, spring flowers, and mineral that flow to a medium to full-bodied, exuberant red that has superb fruit, juicy acidity, and ripe tannin. Hedonistic and downright sexy, this brilliant value should drink nicely for 2-3 years.
I did not drink this with food
I would probably drink this again (7.5/10)
