Name: Stemmari
Variety: Nero D'Avola (13.5% Alcohol)
Region: Sicily
Country: Italy
Year: 2012
My Review: This is a full bodied wine that is dark purple in color with mild to moderate legs. This wine smells like cherries and blackberries, and despite only being 13.5% alcohol I smell it. This is a medium-dry wine that has an oak flavor that I did not previously smell. It has a perfect mix of fruit flavors and tannins.
Winery Review: Indigenous Sicilian varietal of great esteem, producing an intense red wine with characteristic notes of wild strawberry, cranberry, and sour cherries. Pairs well with risotto, oven baked pasta, red meats, lamb, and aged cheeses.
I did not drink this with food
I would definitely drink this again (9/10)
